What happens if I miss a payment with TD Insurance?
If you miss a payment, we may contact you to organize the withdrawal of the amount from your account on another date.
Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD)
Depending on the reason for the missed payment, this is generally the sequence of events if the money isn't available in your bank account when it's time for your monthly direct payment:
- We may contact you to advise you and give you a new date on which we will withdraw the missed amount
- The amount would be withdrawn from your bank account on the specified date. This date is generally 7 days after the bank has notified us of the payment being NSF
- Your next monthly payment would be withdrawn as usual and will include an administrative fee
If the money isn't available in your account, we generally continue to try to contact you. After a given amount of time, we would send you a registered letter of cancellation.
Please note that non payment of your premium for any reason may result in cancelation of your coverage.
Credit Card
This is generally the sequence of events if your Credit Card payment is declined
- We will send a letter advising you of the missed payment and to update the payment method on file. You can do this through MyInsurance, or you can contact us via phone.
