How does the Paperless option work?

Benefits

Going paperless allows you to review your insurance documents electronically - and contributes to a reduction in our carbon footprint which will help to preserve our environment. This paperless selection is per policy, giving you the flexibility to choose which option better suits your needs for each eligible policy.

When you choose the paperless option for a policy:

  • An email notification will be sent to you when new documents are available.
  • You will be able to access your policy documents electronically on the MyInsurance portal approximately 24 hours after you complete a transaction and review the exact copy of what would have been sent by mail.
  • You can easily access, download, share or print your documents anytime through a computer or mobile device.
  • You can also use the MyInsurance portal to modify your policy, request a new quote and update your email address and other personal information.
  • All your insurance documents sent electronically will be stored on MyInsurance for 7 years and can be viewed and accessed at any time.

Mailed documents

When you choose the paperless option, some documents may still be mailed to you to satisfy regulatory requirements, or because we deem them necessary to send by mail. Please note that automobile liability cards (pink cards) will be sent by mail.

Eligibility

We are working to ensure that the paperless option can be available for all policies, however some policies are not eligible at this time.

Only the primary account holder can enroll a policy in our paperless option. They must also be a policyholder, either individually or jointly, to do so.

Your paperless option will be removed for a policy based on any of the below situations:

  • You are no longer the primary account holder and/or policyholder (named insured)
  • You have cancelled the policy
  • You have requested it

If your eligibility for the paperless option is removed for any reason, we will send you an email notifying you of the change, and if applicable, policy documents will be sent by mail.
