What is Accident Forgiveness?

As part of your TD Insurance auto policy you may be eligible for Accident Forgiveness coverage.

How it works

If you've been accident free (no at-fault or partially-at-fault accidents) for the past 6 years and have Accident Forgiveness coverage, we'll "forgive" your first at-fault or partially-at-fault accident. This means that when your policy renews, your premium won't be impacted as a result of the accident.

Am I eligible for Accident Forgiveness?

You are eligible for Accident Forgiveness if the drivers meet these criteria.

  • Principal driver

For the past 6 years the principal driver has been licensed and has not had any at-fault or partially-at-fault accidents for the vehicle on which the coverage is being requested.

  • Additional driver(s)

For the past 6 years, or since being licensed if less than 6 years, an additional licensed driver has not had any at-fault or partially-at-fault accidents for the vehicle on which coverage is being requested.
