What does no fault mean in provinces such as Ontario?
"No fault" ("not at fault" in Quebec) means that regardless of whether you are the liable or responsible party in an accident, you deal directly with your own insurance company during the claims process, as opposed to the insurer of the other driver involved.
This doesn’t mean that you can’t be found at-fault for an accident. If there is an accident, insurance companies will assess fault based on regulations set out by the provincial government.
