The difference between trip cancellation and trip interruption all comes down to timing. If a covered cause disrupts your trip before your trip departure date and your trip is cancelled, Trip Cancellation may cover non-refundable travel expenses, like trip deposits, flight change fees, and more. If something happens during the trip, that’s considered a Trip Interruption, and your insurance may cover a trip home or transport to your next destination.
